Lab Members

Smadar Shulami is the manager of the Fishman laboratory. She received her PhD from the faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Shoham.  She completed her Post Doctorate at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry in the lab of Prof. Timor Bazzov. Her research focused on elucidation at the molecular level of the bacterial sensing and regulatory mechanisms that control gene expression, by using methods involving genetic engineering and biochemistry as well as fermentations tools.

Graduated from the Biotechnology and Food Engineering faculty at the Technion. Did a final project at Ayelet Fishman’s lab under the supervision of Dr. Shalev Gihaz.
Continued to Master’s degree at Ayelet Fishman’s lab, and currently in the direct track for PhD. Presently working on designing new inhibitors for tyrosinase.

Graduated from the Biotechnology Engineering program in Ort Braude. Worked for 6 years in NextFerm as a strain development (non-GMO) and fermentation expert. Presently working on expression of plant proteins in yeast.
